Enabling Contextual Mode Shifting

The concise reason Elegant Reasonism employs Translation Matrices and are required by Elegant Reasonism Rules can be distilled into the single word: “context”, but even that is not the complete picture because one must also mode shift that context juxtaposed with Paradigms Of Interest/Nature (POI/N) across a plurality of Encapsulated Interpretative Models (EIMs).

What (e.g. The Matrix)

The essential idea of a given translation matrix is that of a three dimensional matrix, though this does not necessarily preclude the use of additional dimensions. It progresses layer by layer with an ever increasing degree of integration of compartmentalized kernels of truth as perceived by a plurality of models relative to some set of paradigms of interest. These paradigms of interest may represent intrinsic nature or a specific domain of discourse being pursued by an investigative team. That first layer establishes the investigative domain of discourse by declaring the Paradigms of Interest/Nature (POI/N) in the left most column. The investigative team then is tasked with illustrating how each of those paradigms, and their constituents, manifest within each encapsulated interpretive model employed. Each of the relative and respective models then occupy successive columns in this first layer. That first layer then represents a mathematical table or two dimensional matrix. Intersecting cells, or area of cells, describe how each relative and respective model manifests that particular paradigm. Elegant Reasonism demands and otherwise requires intersecting cells, or area of  them, to conform to the realm of the c’s. Rigor and discipline associated with completing these requirements must simultaneously comply with criteria for unification, ‘the realm of c’s‘, Elegant Reasonism rules and associated standards. Ultimately this effort integrates P1, P2, P3, especially P3.9, into a body of work resulting in an insightful Treatise in full alignment with the actual real unified Universe.

The Construct

Simplistically ‘the construct’ is nothing more than a three dimensional matrix commonly used in mathematics. ‘What’ the construct is does not belie the powerful meaning it can deliver. Columns, Rows, and intersecting cells may be discrete, or they may represent ‘areas’ representing entire domains of discourse. Another way to think about that latter point is that Translation Matrices may be nested to any degree required. The only requirement is that the holistic tool comply with standards and conform to the realm of the c’s.  The holistic construct as ultimately working through issues in P 3.9 has interrelated and interlocked elements instantiating Elegant Reasonism rules across the plurality of Encapsulated Interpretive Models (EIMs) employed by any given investigation across the entire entanglement gradient.


The notion of ‘areas’ in the specific context of answer ‘what’ questions about this tool/technology, is situational awareness that informational elements may be aggregated or arranged by investigation teams into locally related areas which support either vertical or horizontal relationships within a given two dimensional layer. That concept is holistically expanded into three dimensions by the requirements imposed by a given investigation’s analytical requirements. Area boundaries then become an important criteria for investigative teams supporting their specific goals and objectives.


The construct can be considered to possess layers, each of which has a different purpose relative to and respective of the goals and objectives defined by sponsors and stakeholders which are then provided to investigative team leaders.

2D Translation Table Articulation Layer

This is the top most, superficially obvious, component casually visible across the domain of discourse defined for any given investigation. The left most column lists the paradigms of interest and each subsequent column contains the various models, one of which is required to close to unification. Each intersecting cell contains how relative and respective models manifest particular paradigms of interest to the greatest degree possible satisfying the requirements of the investigation and simultaneously complying with standards, the realm of the c’s, and Elegant Reasonism rules.

Historical Context & Original Source Review

Investigation teams will likely find the ISO 9001 QMS unification tool contained in our Software Library, and the vast repository available in our User Library valuable in the conduct of their assigned tasks. Used in this way these resources assure effective communications.

EIM Integrity Analysis Layer

The purpose of this layer is to assure that any given investigation is conforming to Elegant Reasonism rules, that rigor and discipline is conducted to international standards, and instantiates material conforming to the realm of the c’s. What that means demands reflective, potentially recursive, thought about the next few words. Exactly because ‘context‘ for any given concept, construct, paradigm, abstract, etc., may change as they are mode shifted by the technology it is vitally important that investigative teams maintain situational awareness regarding the integrity at every step and stage, across every reach and range of their thinking. Elegant Reasonism based Treatise integrity depends on that integrity. This layer combines all elements necessary to assure integrity of the holistic model reflecting the body of work created by the investigative team.

EIM to EIM Relative to and Respective of POI/N

This layer assures the integrity of mode shifting model to model for the paradigms of interest defined by investigators. Team leaders will find the ISO 9001 Unification tool valuable to make sure that all members are operating on the same definitions of abstractions employed.  Care must be taken to articulate the logical nature of LEEs which manifest in models that do not close to unification and that all members maintain situational awareness. The caution here is that humans have an emotional attachment to familial surroundings and this especially applies to belief systems and interpretive models. It takes an open mind to take action to self-direct paradigm shifts that may be necessary as a function of mode shifting. Team leaders should recognize the issues that stem from these challenges and take steps both in their investigations and the people involved in them. The analysis made manifest in this layer theoretically should take these issues into account in Treatise.

Paradigms of Nature (e.g. Paradigms of {real} Reality) Statistical Layer

This layer’s purpose is to assure the integrity of the paradigms of interest defined in the left most column of the 2D articulation layer relative to the holistic Translation Matrix as made manifest by the investigative team. Niels Bohr observed that we develop understanding of physical properties only by observing phenomena of other physical properties. There is something of a chicken-and-egg problem with this observation and implications of this situation manifest in a number of potentially surprising ways. One is that humans must recognize that we exist inside the model holistically represented in Treatise. That is to say that the ultimate model must also account for ourselves in the same model. A scientists characterized this as ‘being inside the test tube’. As one becomes more and more comfortable with the dynamics of mode shifting it will become apparent that the patterns of context vary model to model. That is to say that relationships between elements manifesting a given paradigm of interest in one model may not be the same as those in another model. What matters is each relative and respective model internally conforms to the realm of the c’s. Consequently part of the challenge here then is assuring that the project being pursued by investigative teams is seeking the actual objective being described by the logical view of the underlying supporting systems. Assurance of such integrity very often demands a comprehensive systems review that holds the potential to derail entire goals or objectives. Consequently great rigor and diligence conforming to recognized standards is demanded and required.

Logic Calculus Layer

Investigative teams may require more than one layer to assure the integrity of logic employed by the body of work representing pursuit of their goals and objectives. Because relationship patterns vary as a function of mode shifted context there exist conditions for some highly complex logic calculus to be conducted and to assure the integrity of it. Conducting that logic calculus and assuring its integrity is the mission of this layer. Elements within the layer may span areas and have both or either horizontal and/or vertical components. This is one area of holistic Translation Matrices which may span encapsulated interpretive models. Not at all obvious is that this layer is vital to assure capitalization of what it is we currently think we know relative to the domain of discourse associated with the actual real unified Universe.

Reality Alignment Validation and Statistical Layer

The purpose of this layer takes a holistic view of entire Translation Matrices and compares that body of work to real phenomena of the actual real unified Universe and then applies Six Sigma to that analysis. Appropriately different Sigma values are derived within encapsulated models than are those used holistically in Treatise and the reason those values are different is exactly because encapsulated interpretive model context cannot, by default and definition, penetrate encapsulation. It should be noted that status quo thinking may believe it has achieved adequate Sigma calculations because of past efforts conducted from the precipice of M1. What is not at all obvious are the perspectives Elegant Reasonism brings to these efforts. Elegant Reasonism will illuminate and illustrate those Sigma values in the full context of other models that close to unification and in that holistic Elegant Reasonism based context will yield entirely different points of view. There are many examples from the speed of light, to black hole growth, to Newton’s laws that may provide fodder for contemplation. The point is that the investigation drives its observations relative to the actual real unified Universe subjected to standards and Elegant Reasonism rules. Investigators should be prepared for considerable shifts to occur across their relative and respective domains of discourse. In the sets of answers to what, when, where, why, and how will be mode shifted underneath these questions model to model. For example M1 why Newton’s laws are true become answers to what questions in M5 and vice versa. The elements within the sets of known knowns, known unknowns, and unknown unknowns will similarly be mode shifted model to model. The foundation for what may be considered valid arguments in one model are eviscerated in other models which illuminate previously hidden considerations by the requirements of unification. Constricted thought imposed by M1‘s spacetime-mass interface are dismantled by M5‘s cogent definition and intrinsic nature. All of these issues must be quantified, codified, and represented in the logic calculus made manifest by Translation Matrices. Elements developed in this layer provide fodder for subsequent analysis in other layers. This layer is one of those layers not constrained by model encapsulation. It has permission to analyze all models in holistic context of the investigation.

Statistical Mechanics Layer

This analytical layer within Translation Matrices is usually positioned after the Reality Alignment Validation & Statistics Layer or integrated within that layer as determined appropriate by the investigation team. The purpose and strategic intent here is to operate on the EIM side of reality instantiation across the plurality of EIMs employed by investigators.

  • Traditional statistical mechanical operations apply (excepting commission of Langer Epistemology Errors).
  • EIM to EIM statistical mechanics may also be implemented here as well as those from other analytical layers of the Translation Matrices.
  • Strategic goal and objective is to support Treatise development.

Bayesian Statistics Layer

There is ample opportunity to employ Bayesian Statistics in Elegant Reasonism based Systems Reviews. The User Library chronicles historical views and belief systems that investigation teams may then extrapolate for new systems of thought that are also in full alignment of the actual real unified Universe. One of powerful aspects of Bayesian is quantification of before and after belief systems statistically. This information will be immensely valuable to education teams and educators worldwide. Integrating these factors into the same construct (e.g. Translation Matrices) where insights are illuminated is a powerful capability.

Translation Matrix Analysis Layer

The purpose of this layer is to provide a means for the holistic tool to validate itself. It essentially seeks to implement the necessary elements to conduct assurance checks and quality metrics consistent with ISO 9001 QMS, Six Sigma, and other industry standards.

Heuristics Analysis / Statistics

Wikipedia defines a heuristic, as any approach to problem solving or self-discovery that employs a practical method that is not guaranteed to be optimal, perfect or rational, but which is nevertheless sufficient for reaching an immediate, short-term goal. Trial and error, rule of thumb, educated guess, and intuitive judgement are all examples of applications of heuristic approaches to problem solving. Heuristics, through greater refinement and research, have begun to be applied to other theories, or be explained by them. The value of this layer becomes exceedingly valuable when we back up from holistic Translation Matrices and realize the implications of Elegant Reasonism as an epistemology in its own right. In context of being able to describe the Universe ‘Bang to Bang‘, and the implications that has for sentient life. This layer integrates philosophical implementation and integration with the investigation being conducted.

Metacognitive Analysis Layer

The purpose of the meta-cognitive layer is to assure situational awareness to the holistic insights being developed in Treatise by Elegant Reasonism.

Six Sigma Layer(s)

The major departure Elegant Reasonism demands from what would otherwise be considered normal practices of Six Sigma practitioners involves implications that stem from ‘encapsulated interpretive models‘ establishing ‘context’. Elegant Reasonism mode shifts context out from under familial definitions, some of which span all scales, and that requires special attention here that is not warranted anywhere else. Sigma values derived ‘in context’ of such a model are constrained to that model. Sigma values derived from other analytical layers may be constrained to those layers. Sigma values holistically derived may then be juxtaposed with external observations/insights from nature (so long as nature is assured to be held litmus).

Holistic Precipice

Once fully developed Translation Matrices empower others to mode shift investigative areas across a plurality of encapsulated (e.g. declared) interpretive models and may represent comprehensive thinking associated with the quest undertaken. Instigators should be prepared for insights unfathomable in any other manner or mode of query. Certainly not traditional epistemologies tied to human ‘at scale’ physiology. The various shifts regarding Newton’s mode shifted laws are a good example.

Root Cause Analysis

Investigators should take keen notice that the answers to the standard root cause analysis questions must be mode shifted in order to be reconciled relative to and respective of the unified Universe.


Establishing the framework begins with the Recognition phase. It is then fleshed out during the Illumination phase. The analytical phase then integrates the insights collected thus far and backs them up with statistics and valid logic calculus. Ultimately the rigor and discipline exercised must then develop a given investigation’s Treatise in full alignment with the actual real unified Universe.


It is not fair to relegate Translation Matrices to any particular process or method within Elegant Reasonism. It is more fair to say that Translation Matrices are employed within Elegant Reasonism to some degree of resolution spanning simplistic to full diagnostic compliant of all standards resulting in alignment with the actual real unified Universe in every step and stage integral to phase P1, P2, P3, and P3.9. The degree of simplicity generally follows the detail implemented. Investigators are warned to keep views articulated as simple as they need to be but do not lose sight of the need to illuminate implications resulting from LEEs.


Answering the why question only becomes fully apparent with cognition of the implications of LEEs. Translation Matrices are the only technology capable of powerfully illuminating the manifestations of not only the correct solutions (e.g. aligned with the actual real unified Universe) but LEEs in a manner that renders clarity associated with ‘the realm of c’s‘, standards, and Root Cause Analysis typically associated with QMS.


The answers to how phenomena are made manifest changes rather dramatically EIM to EIM. Investigative teams should take great care to make sure that these various phenomena and properties are documented thoroughly and consistent with standards for this reason. 

Fundamental Logic Traps

Elegant Reasonism recognizes that failure to employ a fundamental encapsulated interpretive model of the Universe which closes to unification as a matter of prioritized philosophy is a failure of epistemology. Any competent systems review of M1, driven by knowledge management principles, will find that its core abstractions (e.g. the spacetime-mass interface) preclude unification and therefore relegate every conclusion based on it to a systems engineering discussion concerning the realm of logical and physical views of systems, or systems of systems. Closure to context is necessary but insufficient to declare success if that accomplishment does not find alignment with the actual real unified Universe. For example, M5 is just as logical a view as is M1, but M5 closes to unification where as M1 does not. More important is that M1 will never close because its core abstractions preclude closure requirements, and consequently this model constitutes a ‘logic trap’ (of epic proportions).


‘How’ to employ Translation Matrices becomes increasingly apparent with experience. The first time through it will likely seem non-sequitur. Our experience has found that these difficulties are grounded more in individual preconceived notions and belief systems than they are relative to, and respective of, the elegance of the technology. Early adopters will very likely experience many paradigm shifts consequently perceived as ‘difficulties’. Those charged with leadership are encouraged to facilitate paradigm shifts in others with compassion and empathy.

Enterprise Layering

Elegant Reasonism is a disintermediating framework and it should be clear that it is capable of mode shifting value as a function of the Enterprise and its defined mission. Any number of incremental layers may be added by investigators in order to assess alignment across their enterprise. The details will vary by organization relative to its respective mission.
